About this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Android app Madrid Flight Status (MAD) (package name com.crecker.flightstatusmad), published on Google Play by the Madrid Flight Status (MAD) app team ("we", "us"). It explains what information is processed when you use the app, why, and the choices available to you.

The app shows departures and arrivals at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport. It is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Aena or any airline.

Summary

  • No account or sign-up is needed, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, files, or precise location.
  • The app requests only internet and network-state access. It does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, or storage permissions.
  • We do not operate our own servers for the app and do not receive or store personal data about you.
  • Advertising is provided by Google AdMob, which may process device and usage information as described below, subject to your consent choices where required.
  • We do not sell personal information.

Information processed by the app

Flight information. To show the flight board, the app downloads public flight schedules and airline logos directly from Aena's public website (aena.es). Like any website, Aena's servers receive standard technical information that accompanies an internet request, such as your IP address, the time of the request, and basic device or network details. The app does not send Aena any personal information about you.

Search. Text you type into the search field is used only on your device to filter the flights shown. It is not sent to us or to any third party.

Advertising and Google Play services. Google AdMob and Google Play services process information as described in the sections below.

Information stored on your device

The app stores the following only on your device:

DataPurpose
Theme and language settingsRemember your display preferences.
Last downloaded flight schedule (public data)Show recent flights if a later refresh fails because there is no connection. Kept in the app's cache, which Android may clear at any time.
Airline logo images (public data)Avoid downloading the same logo repeatedly.
Simple usage counters (number of active days and of flight details viewed, and the date of the last rating prompt)Decide when it is appropriate to show Google Play's rating prompt.
Consent choices (stored by Google's consent SDK)Remember your advertising consent choices where consent is required.

None of this information is sent to us. App settings may be included in Android's own backup and device-transfer features if you have enabled them; those features are controlled by your device and your Google account settings.

Advertising and consent

The app is free and is supported by banner advertisements served by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). To deliver, measure, and protect ads, Google and its partners may collect and process information such as your IP address and approximate location derived from it, your device's advertising ID, device and app information, ad interactions, and diagnostic data.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another region where consent is required, the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for your consent before ads are requested. Depending on your choices, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. When Google indicates it is required, a Privacy settings option appears in the app's menu so you can review or change your choices at any time.

You can also reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your device's settings (for example, Settings › Privacy › Ads, or Settings › Google › Ads, depending on your device).

Google Play features

The app uses Google Play's in-app updates to check for and install new versions, and Google Play's in-app review to occasionally invite you to rate the app. These features are provided by Google Play on your device; Google does not tell the app whether you left a review or what it said. Their use of information is governed by Google's privacy policy.

Third-party services

The app relies on the following third parties. Their handling of information is governed by their own policies:

Sharing of information

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. Because we do not collect personal data on our own servers, we have none to share. Information is processed by the third parties above only as needed to provide flight data, display and measure ads, deliver updates, and prevent fraud or abuse. Information may also be disclosed if required by law.

If you use the app's Share with friends option, Android's share sheet sends a short message with the app's Google Play link to the app and recipient you choose. We do not see what you share or with whom.

Retention and deletion

Information stored on your device stays there until you clear the app's data or cache, or uninstall the app. You can do this at any time in Android Settings › Apps › Madrid Flight Status (MAD) › Storage. Uninstalling the app removes all of its local data.

Third-party providers such as Google retain information according to their own policies and legal obligations. You can manage information held by Google through your Google account and the links above.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of personal data, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise your advertising choices through the in-app Privacy settings (where shown) and your device settings. Because we do not hold personal data about you, requests relating to data processed by Google should be made through Google's privacy tools. You may also contact us with any privacy question at the address below.

Security

The app downloads flight data and ads over encrypted (HTTPS) connections and keeps its local data in Android's private app storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable care to protect the app and its users.

Children's privacy

The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us.

International processing

Third-party services may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Their privacy policies describe the safeguards and legal bases they use for such transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app, the services it uses, or legal requirements change. The latest version will always be available on this page with an updated date.
